Star Wars is presently the fourth highest-grossing media franchises. It has continued to entertain fans for decades through movies, books, video games, and whatnot. Star Wars belongs to every generation there is. Back in 2016, a new trilogy was introduced with Star Wars: The Force Awakens and had massive success. Then the second part came out in 2017, Star Wars: The Last Jedi and made the trilogy even more famous. But everything seems to end this year in 2019 with Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, the battle between the First Order and Resistance will come to a conclusion. But not only does The Rise of Skywalker conclude the present trilogy but indeed the whole Star Wars movie franchise. That’s an end to all the 8 movies before, the Skywalker saga gets a full stop.
Knowing how big this movie is, these are the important reason for you to grab popcorn and watch Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker without fail:
As mentioned in the introduction, the Star Wars movie franchise is ending altogether. All the eight movies before will be concluded with a satisfying end. If you need to know the sequence and trilogy division, we got that covered for you.
- Episode IV – A New Hope (1977)
- Episode V – The Empire Strikes Back (1980)
- Episode VI – Return of the Jedi (1983)
- Episode I – The Phantom Menace (1999)
- Episode II – Attack of the Clones (2002)
- Episode III – Revenge of the Sith (2005)
- Episode VII – The Force Awakens (2015)
- Episode VIII – The Last Jedi (2017)
- Episode IX – The Rise of Skywalker (2019)
Isn’t that just sad, 2019 is a very bad year. The Infinity Saga of Marvel Cinematic Universe ended and the Skywalker Saga of Star Wars is also ending in 2019. I am just devastated.
Carrie Fisher will be there as Leia
If you know, you know and if you don’t, Carrie Fisher who plays Princess Leia Organa in Star Wars movies is dead. She died in 2016. But J.J. Abrams has featured her in The Rise of Skywalker with the help of unused footage from The Force Awakens and The Last Jedi. This is the last time we see her on-screen. She was a legend and she played one of the most important characters in the Star Wars franchise.
J.J. Abrams directed the movie
J.J. Abrams is a big name in the Hollywood industry. His magic worked well with Star Wars: The Force Awakens and it’s pretty obvious that it will work again. Even if it doesn’t, the movie will be worth your time. The second movie, The Last Jedi was directed by Rian Johnson and got into controversies for not being that perfect of a Star Wars movie. Taking all that into consideration, the last movie was handed over to Abrams to write and direct.
Emperor Palpatine is back
Did you watch the trailer? if you did, you might have heard Sheev Palpatine’s voice. His peril voice got all the fans electrified. Palpatine was one of the biggest villains in the original trilogy and Ian McDiarmid is said to reprise the role. His final look is still not out yet. But when you know Palpatine’s part of the movie, you have every reason to be excited.
The trailer that debuted at Disney’s annual D23 Conference on August 24, 2019, showed Rey wielded a red doubled sided lightsaber. There is no particular guarantee about Rey sticking to the light side. She is a confused character and is in search of finding her place in all of the chaos. If Kylo Ren is good enough to manipulate Rey, then there are greater chances of Rey leaving the good guys for good or the bit shown in the trailer was just a Force vision and we got nothing to worry about.
Historical Team Up
Until now, all the heroes had their adventures separately. They were at different places fighting for the good side. But the trailer showed an epic team-up where Rey, Poe, Chewbacca, and Finn reunited. With them, robots and droids were present too – C-3PO, R2D2, and BB-8. A new droid jointed the team whose cuteness made the internet explode, he is named D-O and is shown to accompany BB-8.
