No doubt Avengers: Endgame had surprising constituents that shocked fans to a peak level. But many ideas that were drawn did not make it to the final cut. Like Thanos cutting off Captain America’s head(which would have been dark), like Tony Stark surviving Endgame was also a possibility. There are many more that were pulled off from the script. In those striped off ideas, there was one where Ant-man led giant ants that would have helped in the battle against Thanos and his army. Ants would have been really useful against Chitauri gorillas and leviathans. But that did not make it to the final cut.
Ant-Man played a major role in Avengers: Endgame. Even though it was Tony that made time travel possible, it was Scott Lang who proposed the idea of time heist. Proper credits have to be given to him for that. But as the Russo Brothers mentioned, Endgame was about the original six Avengers and that might have been the reason, Ant-Man did not get to use his ultimate powers to control giant ants. Nonetheless, there is a sequel in the making for Ant-Man and The Wasp. Maybe this idea will be revisited there. The director of Ant-Man and the Wasp, Peyton Reed will return to direct the upcoming Ant-Man movie and he shared a few insights about it with ComicBook.com.
I think that was the case in the first movie, particularly when Adam McKay and Paul were reworking the script on the first movie. In that movie, we added the Quantum Realm and Janet and stuff like that knowing that if we were able to make a sequel that that could be fertile ground.
He shared that the time exploring the Quantum Realm will be higher than before.
There are definitely things in this movie that, if we’re fortunate enough to make another one, there’s a lot to play with. We spend more time in the Quantum Realm in this movie, obviously than the first movie but it feels like we’re just dipping our toes into it.
