Skywalker Saga is coming to an end. The world is about to witness Episode IX of Star Wars which will mark as the end of all the three trilogies. J.J. Abrams is directing the movie and knowing that Carrie Fisher died in 2016, the moviemakers have used footage of Princess Leia from The Force Awakens to feature her in the movie. The Rise of Skywalker is going to be a huge end that will showcase many familiar characters that were popular from the Star Wars movies before the reboot happened. One such character is gambler Lando Calrissian played by Billy Dee Williams, who wasn’t sure about bringing the smooth-talking smuggler back to the screen.

Billy Dee Williams said with Esquire about his insecurity and doubts about returning as Lando in Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker.

Do I have that same hunger, excitement, that I had years earlier?(Asked himself out loud). This is a very difficult time for me, as far as age is concerned. When you get to be a certain age, whether you want to think about mortality or not, you think about it.

After a lot of work that had been through, Billy Dee Williams agreed on playing the role in the finale, The Rise of Skywalker.

When I have to go to work, my ego tells me I want to look pretty good. I don’t want to look bad. I don’t want to look like a slob.

Though many years passed by, the actor did not forget on how to portray the role. He had disclosed a few key insights to play as Lando in the final chapter of the Saga.

I always imagined Lando being like Steve Wynn, running Las Vegas. Because he’s a gambler. But he was a bit of a showman, a bit of an entrepreneur. That’s how I see Lando. I never necessarily saw him as a general running around shooting things.

Billy Dee Williams was even asked if this was the end for Lando for which he let out the truth and awareness of the industry,

It’s a conclusion—certainly, it depends on how much money is generated. That’s when they determine where’s the conclusion. The one thing about show business, you can resurrect anything.

Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker is coming out on December 20, 2019. The movie will show Billy Dee Williams as Lando Calrissian, Daisy Ridley as Rey, Carrie Fisher as Leia and Adam Driver as Kylo Ren.
