As soon as the announcement was out about Thor getting a fourth standalone movie, marvel fans went crazy and are very much excited about the movie. In the recent Tokyo Comic-Con, Chris Hemsworth was asked during a panel discussion about his upcoming movie, Thor: Love and Thunder. Surprisingly, he couldn’t say much because he did not read the script yet.
Lots of love and lots of thunder. You can expect that. I haven’t seen the script yet. I know they’re working very hard on it and pretty excited to bring you something pretty fresh and new again. But having left Endgame, where Thor was, we have a lot of room to move there and drastically change again, which is very, very exciting. But we start shooting that sort of mid-next year.
After the events of Avengers: Endgame and what had happened to Thor, things became quite interesting. That’s a hell lot of fat Thor grew on himself and he is a bit weak and funny now. How will the story move forward? Thor: Love and Thunder will see the return of Tessa Thompson as Valkyrie who will be the new ruler of Asgardians. The long-forgotten girlfriend of Thor’s will be back too, Natalie Portman as Jane Foster will be on screen and this time, it is said that she will wield Mjölnir to become female Thor, like in the comics, I can’t wait to see the movie. Chris Hemsworth even said,
I’d still love to do more, to be honest. And I don’t know what the plan is. I feel like we’ve opened up such a different character. I feel more energized about the possibility of where it could go… But I’ll use that in other places and other characters if it’s the end here.
The director of Thor: Ragnarok, Taika Waititi will return to write and direct the movie. He said the sequel would amplify the aesthetic establishment in Ragnarok. Taika Waititi said,
It’s going to be bigger and louder and more bombastic. It’s only interesting to me if we’re doubling down on how nuts Ragnarok was.
