9. The Amazing Spider-Man 2 (2014)

This Spider-Man movie consists of something that no other Spider-Man movie tried to do – Dig into the history of Peter Parker’s parents and what? The movie was a disaster. Not much of the audience and Spiderman fans liked it. The second installment of Sony’s Amazing Spider-Man had many layers like Peter’s parent’s death, Electro on the run, Harry Osburn again out of nowhere, trouble with Gwen Stacy – Peter’s love interest! All of these had to be dealt at once and in the end, Peter succeeds in dealing a few but gets his girlfriend killed, come on! This script experiment did not click as expected.

Why does this movie get that much hate? A few love this movie so much and call it the best superhero movie of all time. Not everyone is the same and perspective matters. Bringing Venom into the script as a villain is a brilliant move, but calling Sandman in? I don’t know, the depth of both the villain was not explored to meet requirements that a plot needs, then to remember Harry Osburn wants revenge too, that is a trio Spider-Man had to face. Peter Parker’s attitude had to mess up, due to the symbiote. Literally, the whole movie was on a toss, but thanks to the director for bringing up a fabulous visual on to the screen. Spider-Man 3 had a great box office collection and it is a commercial hit.

7. The Amazing Spider-Man (2012)

  • DirectorMarc Webb
  • IMDb: 7/10
  • Rotten Tomatoes: 66%
  • Collection$262,030,663

After disappointed with Spider-Man 3, the director Sam Raimi has planned for Spider-Man 4 to restore the glory of the Spider-Man franchise with Tobey Maguire but later in 2010, Raimi turned down the project saying he couldn’t produce a quality project with sony’s strict program schedule and with this happening, the leading actors departed in solidarity with Raimi. After all this, Sony moved on rebooting the franchise with Marc Webb directing a new Spider-Man movie by adding ‘The Amazing’ in its title and Andrew Garfield playing the new Spider-Man. This movie did not show a new version of Spider-Man but the same old Peter Parker who is bullied and a nerd. The only change was Gwen Stacy replacing Mary Jane as the new love interest of Peter. A new villain to fight and protect the city.

  • Rotten Tomatoes: 28%
  • Collection$213,449,854

Though Venom is not a Spider-Man movie, let me add it to this list, because you will be surprised to know that there are chances of Spider-Man meeting the new Venom played by Tom Hardy. Again, there are only chances and nothing is finalized yet. But assuming Venom in the Spider-Man Universe, it received the least ratings by Rotten Tomatoes, but the audiences’ opinion differs and they called the movie extraordinary. According to me, the only problem the had was the Spider-Man missing. Because of this, Venom’s suit had to be some random monster outfit and no webs to shoot. But the rest was very well executed. The humor was good and the movie is about to get a sequel featuring Carnage – a new villain.

It all began here when Sam Raimi who took the part to be a director and Tobey Maguire accepted to play Spider-Man. The first installment of Spider-Man was the best superhero movie of 2002. The creator of this superhero character Spiderman – Stan Lee who passed away said that he was a little nervous about the first film and when it became a hit, the rest was a piece of cake. I agree to that, because he understood the formula that needed to be used on a superhero film, later came the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Spider-Man movie did justice to the character making Spiderman one of the most famous superheroes of all time. Thanks to Raimi for bringing such a good film to life and Tobey’s take on the character made the fans go bonkers.

What magic did Marvel use? Just a kid playing Spider-Man mentored by Tony Stark, that’s it and the movie is a favorite to everybody one and it is having a sequel. Marvel gaining rights on Spider-Man was a boon. Spider-Man gets a chance to be an Avenger and meet other characters in the MCU, just as all the fans wanted. My greatest wish was Spider-Man not being an Avenger and Homecoming made it come true. Tom Holland is perfect for the role and got used to it. All the rating it got is justifiable. The humor and the plot worked for Marvel. Not sure how long will the rights of Spider-man remain in the hands of Marvel Studios, but they will do good to it.

The best of the trilogy – Spider-Man 2. It’s more than perfect. All the improvements that were required after the first Spider-Man movie was carefully implanted in the sequel. It was smooth and best. The depths of the characters were meet. Peter Parker’s powers fluctuating and his problems of bankruptcy that he had to deal, balancing his college life and not to forget Mary Jane almost getting married, there was a lot to get into that was structured in the movie in the best way possible. The villain in the movie Otto Octavius who becomes Doctor Octopus is totally taken the movie to another level. Alfred Molina who played the character was remarkable in playing it. The most important part and the most famous scene in the movie is the train fight. Peter’s promise of protecting people remained a promise.

2. Spider-Man: Far From Home

  • Directors: Jon Watts
  • IMDb: 8/10
  • Rotten Tomatoes: 90%
  • Collection: N/A

spiderman far from home 2019 movie pk 1920x1080

Marvel dropped another hit for its franchise. Far From Home deals with the after events of Avengers: Endgame and how the earth handles the second blip that brings half the universe back. Peter parker’s grief for the loss of his mentor begins the storyline of the movie. Peter Parker played by Tom Holland did a stupendous job in making Spider-Man a celebrated superhero again. The world is faced by a new threat called the Elementals and Mysterio(Jake Gyllenhaal) comes into the picture from another dimension due to the snap and helps Nick Fury(Samuel L. Jackson) and Maria Hills(Cobie Smulders) in saving the world. S.H.I.E.L.D. requires Spider-Man to step up in spite of Peter being on a school trip. Will Spider-Man become the superhero he always meant to or will he continue to flirt his classmate MJ(Zendaya)?

1. Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse (2018)

Every Spider-Man Ranked From Worst To Best

Spider-Man Into the Spider-Verse is an experiment by Sony Pictures, the animation was very unique and new, making it worth a watch. It turned out to be the best Spider-Man movie and let me tell you how? It was always Peter Parker who was Spider-Man, but here in the Spider-Verse, we got a new hero – Miles Morales. Before the film’s release, I thought the movie is going to be a flop and messed up due to the multidimensional concept, but I was wrong, the multidimensional concept was the one that made the movie a hit. It was new and fresh. The fans got to see a new Spiderman who was not Peter Parker, also a Spider-Woman, a pig who can be a Spider-Man. I can’t get enough of this movie. The moral of the movie is even more awesome, teaching ‘ everyone can wear a mask‘ and all it takes is a ‘leap of Faith‘. All of these make the movie to be on top of this every Spider-Man ranked from worst to best list. And just to be on point the rating it received justifies its position.
