The 13 Reasons Why actress Katherine Langford was a cast member of Avengers: Endgame and apparently, the scene featuring her was nowhere to be seen in the movie. What role did Katherine Langford’s play in Avengers: Endgame and why it’s not featured?

Katherine Langford played the role of the adult version of Morgan Stark, the daughter of Tony Stark. In Avengers: Infinity War, after snapping and wiping out half of the universe, Thanos goes into a metaphysical way station and meets his daughter, young Gamora. The same mirror scene was supposed to be in Avengers: Endgame, where Teenage Morgan Stark, played by Katherine Langford meets her father Tony in that metaphysical way station and forgives Iron Man for sacrificing his life to save the universe.

But unfortunately the scene was not included in the final cut of the movie and here’s what the directors of the movie had to say about the scene at MTV’s “Happy Sad Confused” podcast on Sunday,

There was an idea that Tony was going to go into the metaphysical way station that Thanos goes in when he snapped his fingers, and there was going to be a future version of his daughter in that way station.

The directors said they nixed the because it caused too much confusion. To understand the movie to the depth, one much watch more than once, it was a complicated movie for sure, adding that scene would have made the movie more difficult to understand for the audience.

The intention was that his future daughter forgave him and gave him peace to go. The idea felt resonant, but it just was too many ideas in an overcomplicated movie.

Russo explained.

We showed it [the movie with the scene] to a test audience and it was really confusing for them.

And Anthony Russo added,

We didn’t feel an emotional association with the adult version of his daughter. It wasn’t ringing to us. It wasn’t resonating to us on an emotional level and that is why we moved away from it.

This is the ultimate reason for that scene to be cut out. We only got to see the young version of Morgan Stark played by Lexi Rabe and not the adult version who forgives her father for the sacrifice. Will Morgan Stark be the future Iron Woman, will she become a superhero just like her father, let us know in the comments below.
