Say what? Morbius the vampire is vengeful and frightening. Sony Dropped the trailer of the upcoming movie Morbius, starring Jared Leto in the lead. The Sony Universe is being built with full care. It’s first antihero movie Venom got mixed reviews but it grossed a good amount which allowed Sony it go for a sequel. Before the sequel arrives, Morbius will already be released and establish the important components of the Sony Cinematic Universe.

The trailer included an easter egg from MCU. Michael Keaton’s role as Vulture in Spider-Man: Homecoming is one of the best villains from MCU. The character did not die in the movie. The trailer of Morbius features Michael Keaton without any context or reference, a bold move by Sony to grab attention. But we know what it actually means. Morbius happens to be in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Another Easter Egg is a Spider-Man poster on a street wall when Morbius is seen walking. The Spider-Man suit looks similar to that of Andrew Garfield’s. The even crazier thing is the graffiti on the poster which says, “murderer”. That’s something to think about.

There is no doubt about Venom and Morbius sharing the same universe. There are rumors about Tom Holland’s Spider-Man being a part of Venom 2 as a cameo. If that happens, everything takes proper shape. Sony and Disney made a new deal which allows Spider-Man to stay in the MCU for Spider-man 3 and an MCU team-up movie. After that, Tom Holland will no longer play Spider-Man in the MCU and will be held in Sony’s realm of fantasy and fiction creation that won’t make sweet movies like how Disney does. Venom was already terrifying and Morbius won’t let the bars down. Sony is planning for Sinister Six featuring six popular Spider-Man villains fighting against Spider-Man.

Another detail that I noticed is the rumors about J.K. Simmons playing J. Jonah Jameson in Morbius. We already saw J. Jonah Jameson in the mid-credit scene of Spider-man: Far From Home. Another strong evidence of Morbius being a part of MCU.

Morbius is dated to hit the theatres in the summer of 2020.
