Golden Globes was held recently on 6 January 2020 and in no time, we have the nominations of 92nd Academy Awards. The list is not surprising at all. Every nomination is an expected one. All eight movie nominations for Best Picture Category have already won many awards, but Oscars being the biggest award ceremony for Hollywood, this is a proud moment for all the producers and directors of the movie.

Joker’s Joaquin Phoenix and Marriage Story’s Adam Driver got nominated for Best Actors in the Leading Role category. Like always, Leonardo DiCaprio made it to the list for acting in Once Upon a Time in Hollywood. Scarlett Johansson got nominated too, from Marriage Story in the category of Best Actress in the Leading Role, she completes with Renée Zellweger who acted in Judy, that’s a tough competition.

1917’s unique camera work lead the movie to be nominated for Best Cinematography and I am pretty sure it has high chances of winning the award. 3 out of 5 movies nominated for Best visual effects are of Disney’s, the movies being, Avengers: Endgame, The Lion King, and Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker. The other two movies are The Irishman and 1917. Disney’s Maleficent: Mistress of Evil made it to Best Makeup and Hairstyling category.

Todd Phillips is on Best Directors list with Joker, Martin Scorsese got nominated for The Irishman, Quentin Tarantino got nominated for Once Upon a Time in Hollywood. The surprising part is about Parasite which got more than 5 nominations.
