Peter Parker in the Marvel Cinematic Universe is in a terrible situation. His identity is out, Daily Bugle’s J. Jonah Jameson broadcasted a lie to the world that was manipulated by Mysterio. What will the friendly neighbourhood Spider-Man do? Even Mr. Stark is not there to help him out? On the other side, there’s Miles Morales, whole saved the world, but lost his uncle, Miles can now travel dimensions and hangout out with his new girlfriend, Gwen Stacy, who indeed is Spider-Women. I am eagerly waiting for both, Spider-Man: Far From Home sequel and Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse 2. Sony Pictures announced changes on Friday.
Far From Home sequel and the third instalment to Tom Holland’s movie in the MCU was set to release on July 16, 2021. Thanks to Coronavirus, the movie will now be in theatres on November 5, 2021. Delayed for almost 4 months, the title of the sequel is still not revealed.
Sony’s animated film, Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse won an Academy Award for Best Animated Feature in 2019. Doing animation is a hectic job and needs a humongous amount of time and that’s the reason why animated movie sequels take so much time. Into the Spider-Verse 2 was originally supposed to come out on April 8, 2022. Now it is pushed to October 7, 2022.
All most all Sony movies have been rescheduled and no movie’s production is ON right now. If the situation of this pandemic gets more severe, these dates might change again. Let’s not hope for that.
Jon Watts will direct, what is said to be “the last Spider-Man movie with Marvel”. Tom Holland will, of course, reprise his role as Peter Parker, the story deals with how he manages to control the situation as his identity is out. Tom Holland said, “the script is absolutely amazing”, it will be an exit strategy for the Spider-Man from MCU who is then rumoured to join Sony’s Venom and Morbius universe.
There aren’t many details regarding Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse 2. However, what we know as of now are the sequel will pick up from where it’s left in part 1. The romantic story of Miles and Gwen will more forward. Shameik Moore and Hailee Steinfeld are coming back for their roles. There are reports about Japanese Spider-Man joining the movie.
