Did you watch the first episode of The Mandalorian Season 2? If you haven’t, you gotta do it right now. The new episode titled Chapter 9: The Marshal directed by Jon Favreau has lived up to the expectations of Star Wars fans. Season 2 about the bounty hunter and his quest to return Baby Yoda to his species is doing good for now. Actor Carl Weathers who plays Greef Karga on the show spoke about Season 2 and how it’s going to be.

Carl Weathers’ role on the show was introduced in the first episode of Season 1 and since then the actor stole eyes in whichever scenes he was featured. When asked regarding Season 2, Weathers had a lot to say:

It’s so easy to give too much away. All I can tell you is if you liked Season 1, my suspicion is you’re going to like Season 2 even better. here’s so much more going on [with] some wonderful guest stars who have come in and become a part of episodes. The episodes are just larger and larger in terms of scope, the story is just as interesting β€” if not more so.

The show’s success will surely impact the upcoming seasons in terms of budget, story and scope. Showrunner Jon Favreau’s incredible job has taken The Mandalorian to great heights and also won many Emmy Awards in 2020. Weathers commented on the real star of the series – Baby Yoda:

We, of course, have the baby. The baby is back and bigger than ever in terms of presence, not size. We all love the baby.

Along with Karga, Cara Dune will return too, played by Gina Carano. These two characters have teamed up at the end of Season 1 and now will be part of the new season to help Din Djarin aka The Mandalorian.

Cara Dune is back, big time, doing the stuff she does with both action and pathos. And then, of course, you have yours truly, Green Karga, who is back and having fun doing what he does β€” being duplicitous.

Carl Weathers desperately wanted to direct an episode of The Mandalorian and asked Jon Favreau way back when Season 1 was being made. The showrunner promised to look into it and now gave Weathers a chance to direct.

It came about because I got down to my knees and begged Jon Favreau, ‘Please, please, please, let me direct an episode,’ and he said, ‘If we have a Season 2, we’ll take a look at doing that.’ And true to his word, he came through, he delivered.

In the 8 episodes of Season 2, Carl Weathers directed EP will release in any of the coming weeks and it is not the first time the actor directed a TV show episode. He has done it before on Hawaii Five-0 and Sheena. Weathers promised the show will “entertain the heck out of people.”

The Star Wars series cast includes Pedro Pascal as The Mandalorian, Giancarlo Esposito as Moff Gideon, Timothy Olyphant as Cobb Vanth, and Rosario Dawson as Ahsoka Tano.

The Mandalorian Season 2’s new episodes will premiere on Disney+ every Friday. Follow us on Twitter and Instagram for more Baby Yoda updates.
