With over 50 million subscribers, Disney+ is doing good in the business. To be honest, there is nothing much on the streaming platform right now. Fewer titles and less Disney+ series. It’s their first year and can be excused for lacking content. The Mandalorian is the first original Disney+ had come up with at its launch, created by Jon Favreau, the Star Wars series went on to become the most-watched show on the platform.
The Mandalorian’s season 1 aired last year in 2019, its season 2 is about to arrive in the month of October 2020, even before that release, sources who are close the production have disclosed about the status of season 3. As learnt by Variety. Jon Favreau had already begun “writing season 3 for a while”. Not only that but the art department of the show have been working for the past few weeks led by Doug Chiang, the executive producer of The Mandalorian and vice president of Lucasfilm. One of the sources revealed:
We’ve just started pre-production and are looking into further adventures for the Mandalorian in Season 3.
Many movie and TV show productions had to shut down due to Coronavirus, luckily, The Mandalorian’s season 2 ended its shooting in March just before everything had to be halted. The plot of the upcoming season is a mystery, in the finale of season 1, Mando goes to search for baby Yoda’s home planet. Until now, nothing much was spoken or shown about the Yoda species in any of Star Wars movies. The Mandalorian might be doing the honours of divulging more about baby Yoda and what the creature is really capable of.
Breaking Bad star, Giancarlo Esposito was introduced in the Disney+series as Moff Gideon. He appeared late in season 1, but the actor promised he’ll appear again in the next season with more wielding of darksaber. Rosario Dawson also joined the cast, she will be playing Ahsoka Tano. Though she might be a guest star, fans are exhilarated after hearing the news. Ahsoka Tano is the central character in Star Wars: The Clone Wars, which also streams on Disney+. Dawson didn’t disclose must in a recent interview about her role in The Mandalorian:
That’s not confirmed yet but when that happens, I will be very happy. I’m very excited for that to be confirmed at some point.
The Mandalorian season 2 is coming to Disney+ in October 2020. The lead role is played by Pedro Pascal and his face is never shown. Follow Update Freak on Instagram and Twitter for more Disney Plus Updates.
