Before searching for Marvel heroes, just go with Marvel villains, because, Marvel is not only about superheroes, it is also about the villains, with whom those heroes need to fight. There are Terrifying Marvel villains, powerful Marvel villains, funny Marvel villains and turned to Avenger – Marvel villains.

Here’s a list of top Marvel villains, who did a phenomenal job and are also super cool.

List of best Marvel villains

#9.Ultron

Played by: James Spader

Movie: Avengers: Age of Ultron

Creators: John Buscema, Roy Thomas

Abilities:

  • Artificial intelligence
  • superhuman strength
  • speed, durability
  • Flight
  • Energy Blasts

Although Ultron is not a human, it is played by James Spader, who did a phenomenal job. Ultron is created by Tony Stark and Bruce Banner. Their intention to create Ultron was to build an artificial intelligence system, but it turns out to be a blunder. Ultron is scripted very well, it had all the necessary qualities of a Marvel villain. Hats off to Marvel for such visualistic antagonist.

#8.Hela

Played by: Cate Blanchett

Movie: Thor: Ragnarok

Creators: Stan Lee, Jack Kirby

Abilities:

  • Telepathy
  • Teleportation
  • Superhuman strength

Rarely, the villain’s roles are played by a female. Cate Blanchett fits best for her role – Hela. Again credits to Marvel for such good screenwriting. Director Taika Waititi improvised the script a lot that you have no idea about. The way she smashes Thor’s hammer is very cool and thrilling. She did justice to her role as goddess of death and Thor’s sister.

#7.Baron Zemo

Played by: Daniel Brühl

Movie: Captain America: Civil War

Creators: Stan Lee, Jack Kirby

Abilities:

  • Scientific genius
  • Master swordsman and hand-to-hand combatant
  • Skilled strategist

A Stan Lee’s creation is always unique, although he had no superpowers, he had the right attitude to qualify as a good villain. Baron Zemo or Helmut Zemo is freaking genius, he was able to ripe for Avengers into the half. He played a major role in MCU’s plot for the way it is. His way of approach to take revenge on Avengers is just perfect, his objective was to make them pay for killing his family in their careless assault on Sokovia. Zemo is correct in his own way of stating, “Avengers themselves are the villains”.

#6.Vulture

Played by: Michael Keaton

Movie: Spider-Man: Homecoming

Creators: Stan Lee, Mark Waid, Steve Ditko, John Romita Sr., Gerry Conway, Ross Andru, Mike McKone

Abilities:

  • Genius electrical engineer
  • Electromagnetic tailored body-harness grants
  • Enhanced physical attributes
  • Flight

Birdman has become Vulture, what an upgrade. He is not terrifying or powerful. But he has a strong backstory, probably the best Backstory to become evil. His way of using trash technology to make world-class weapons is much interesting. We will meet Vulture again in Spider-Man: Homecoming 2. He will be playing a major role (according to what we know).

#5.Winter Soldier

Played by: Sebastian Stan

Movies: Captain America: The First Avenger, Captain America: The Winter Soldier, Captain America: Civil War, Avengers: Infinity War

Creators: Jack Kirby, Ed Brubaker, Joe Simon, Steve Epting

Abilities:

  • Skilled hand to hand combatant
  • martial artist and marksman
  • Advance scout
  • Use of military weapons and throwing knives

Abilities as Winter Soldier:

  • Skilled assassin and spy, via cybernetic left arm
  • superhuman strength
  • Enhanced reaction time
  • Energy Projection
  • EMP discharger
  • Holographic projector

Marvel villains

Bucky Barnes, who has a hell of a history. There are two movies centrifuged on him (Captain America: The Winter Soldier, Captain America: Civil War). That’s how important he is to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The style and attire, he wears is so much villainy and perfect. The switches he makes in the MCU from good to bad and bad to good, then again, good to bad, OMG, a complicated marvel character. Finally, he is the one, who killed Tony’s parents.

P.S. – Iron Man will never forgive him for that.

#4.Ego

Played by: Sentient Planet

Movie: Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2

Creators: Stan Lee, Jack Kirby

Abilities:

  • Exceptional intellect
  • Matter manipulation
  • vast psionic powers

I thought twice before putting him on this list, is he really a villain?

Guardians of the Galaxy vol. 2 starts off portraying him as Peter’s father, a good and mature Sentient Planet (yes, he is a planet). Then the second half takes a wild turn, twisting the storyline, turning Ego into a very evil antagonist – But he is a sweet man though. The only reason Ego being on this list is because of his master plan, what he has done and what he is about to do (Eww!!!), you know what I’m talking about.

#3.Erik Killmonger

Played by: Michael B. Jordan

Movies: Black Panther

Creators: Don McGregor, Rich Buckler

Abilities:

  • Superhuman intelligence
  • Expert tactician
  • Skilled hunter and tracker
  • Skilled hand-to-hand combatant
  • Enhanced strength, speed, agility, and durability
  • Alchemical precognition and protection against mystical attacks
  • Uses high-tech equipment and weapons, including vibranium outfit

Marvel villains

What a simple character he is, brilliant acting. The swag, dialogue delivery and screen presence of Killmonger just blew minds of the audience. Frankly speaking, he did better than the hero in the movie. Marvel chose the right cast member, Michael B. Jordan. Every time he enters, he owns the scene, sinking with the background music. Black Panther’s $1 billion collection worldwide is the proof for the best acting done by the actors – especially Michael B. Jordan.

#2.Loki

Played by: Tom Hiddleston

Movies: Thor, The Avengers, Thor: The Dark World, Thor: Ragnarok, Avengers: Infinity War, Untitled Avengers film

Creators: Stan Lee, Jack Kirby, Larry Lieber

Abilities:

  • Magic
  • Longevity
  • Shapeshifting
  • Superhuman strength

Marvel villains

He is not a villain right now, but when he was, he was awesome. One of the best Marvel villain. He had humor, he was terrifying and also a great looking god. His most interesting part comes here, in the first Avengers movies, Tony says to Loki, “We have Hulk”. The same dialogue is said by Loki to Thanos in Avengers Infinity War! From that moment on, he said to be an Avenger. After knowing this fact, I experienced Goosebumps for real.

#1.Thanos – Top’s Marvel villains list

Played by: Josh Brolin

Movies: Avengers: Infinity War, Untitled Avengers film

Creators: Jim Starlin, Mike Friedrich

Abilities:

  • Superhuman strength, agility, durability, and longevity
  • Superhuman physiology of Eternals
  • Plasma energy projection

Thanos is the trending topic right now, more than any other thing in the entire Marvel Cinematic Universe. No need to explain the reason for him to be on this list of Marvel villains, His snap is enough for him to top this list. He will remain in this position until he is defeated. True AF!!! More than, being a Marvel villain, he is a good Titan too (yes, he is). In the end, after successfully wiping out half of the universe, he is not satisfied because ultimately, he is a good guy, his plan made him evil. Directors of Avengers Infinity War claim Thanos as a complicated character due to his fickle mind.
