Warner Bros. is doing good with DC Comics, Joker crossed $1 billion at the box office, Shazam, Aquaman and Wonder Woman did well too. There are a lot of sequels coming and DCEU is currently in its best phase. Though Justice League and Dawn of Justice tanked and got negative feedback from the audience, Superman and Batman are core characters for DC and Warner Bros. have to step up to give these characters standalone movies. Robert Pattinson is the new Batman and Matt Reeves is directing the new Batman movie. Lately, there have been talks to give the job of directing Superman and Green Lantern movies to J.J. Abrams.

J.J. Abrams is known for directing movies in the Starwars franchise and the Startrek franchise too. According to a new report from Variety, there have been discussions with J.J.about Superman. His company Bad Robot signed a new deal with the Studio. The same report even said that J.J. Abrams might take up Green Lantern too which is in the phase of screenwriting done by Geoff Johns. The script will be ready by the end of this year and could be presented to Abrams and Bad Robot for consideration.

Not sure if Hendry Cavill will play Superman in the future, the movie is still in the development stage and won’t be released anywhere before 2023. We might as well see new Superman if the studios recast the role. The Green Lantern Corps is on its way and its story revolves around Hal Jordan, Kyle Rayner, John Stewart and Guy Gardner who are Green Lanterns of earth and they fight against Sinestro Corps led by a former Green Lantern Sinestro and are armed with a yellow power ring, they threaten for a universal rule through fear.
