One of the best movies of 2017 is Wonder Woman. DC extended universe got a lot of air to breathe in with the success of Wonder Woman after trying hard to make good films. Justice league went down disappointing everyone and then to the rescue came Aquaman earning almost a billion. DC is trying hard to survive in the superhero film industry. So their next big project is Wonder Woman 1984 which brings back the tales of Diana Prince.
New Villain: Cheetah
Wonder Woman 1984 is going to feature a new villain named Cheetah played by Kristen Wiig. In the first part, it was the god of war Ares who was trying to destroy mankind. But now, in Wonder Woman 2 it is going to be a popular character from the comics who will confront Diana in the sequel. To know about this character here are a few abilities that Cheetah possess:
- Powers and appearance of a cheetah, granted by the plant-god Urzkartaga
- Superhuman speed and strength.
These are the powers she enjoys and in the comics, she has been affiliated to Villainy Inc., Secret Society of Super Villains. Injustice League, Suicide Squad, Legion of Doom. Cheetah is a very popular villain in the comics. Coming to the films – DCEU, it all remains in the hands of Kristen Wiig on how she takes on the character and portrays it. Not to forget that it is a known fact that DC is very good at producing world-class villains.
In the movie Barbara Ann Minerva, a British archaeologist locates the lost city of Urzkartaga and stumbles into an ancient ritual to become a host of Cheetah goddess.
Steve Trevor will return
What? He is already dead. Yes, he is, but DC is going to bring him back. Not in the flashback but bring him back alive. In a tweet by the director of Wonder Woman 1984, Patty Jenkins revealed a picture of Steve Trevor wearing an outfit of the 1980s. So he is coming back alive to join Wonder Woman in fighting Cheetah.

According to me, the death of Steve Trevor is what made Wonder Woman special and bringing him back would be a tough choice. Twists like a twin brother or time machine have become old and boring. Story writers Patty Jenkins and Geoff Johns have come up with a good script to begin the production. When bringing back Superman from the dead was no big deal, Bringing Steve Trevor would be an easy task.
Recently Chris Pane who plays the role of Steve Trevor has teased the role saying,
This one is a little different for me tonally. The tables are turned, and I’m more of the deer in the headlights.
The story is nothing much complex till now. The updates and news share simple synopsis of the movie. Diana Prince comes into conflict with the Soviet Union and you know when? The title says 1984 which is particularly at the time of cold war between the power blocks of the world. Apart from this, she has to face a new villain, a formidable foe in the form of Cheetah. The writers have begun to write the story in June 2017 saying they had
Cool idea for the second one
Wonder Woman 1984 is filmed majorly in London and a few parts in Washington D.C. and Spain. The story sounds exciting and good, but how is going to turn out on the silver screen is all the matter. Pedro Pascal is said to a role in the movie but not sure which. The DC movies have a new competition which is Aquaman trashing all the records including Batman to rushing into the billion-dollar club.
The film is said to release on 5 June 2020. To reveal how excited you are, leave comments below to let us know.
